Sara Jolly is a painter and photographer from Germany/New Zealand, based in London.
An obsession with plant matter and a devotion to our planetary ecosystems are the driving forces in Jolly's practice. Her works capture fleeting and marginalized elements of nature - weeds growing on roadsides, a passing shadow, seaweed washed up on shores, the last of an endangered species. As a lucid meditation, hyper awareness transforms the mundane in to glimpses of the extraordinary. A portal in to the present, where nature fosters a sense of being instead of doing. Jolly is continually examining the crossover between the human and the wild and how they are negotiating a fragile coexistence.
Jolly holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art - Painting from the University of Edinburgh (2019). She exhibits internationally with recent shows including Bouquet at the ArAr Gallery (Yerevan, Armenia, 2026) and Summer Exhibition at Holland Park Orangery (London, UK, 2026). Jolly has completed commissions for collectors both nationally and internationally. Passionate about collaboration, she works with sustainability organisations and charities such as Nature is a Human Right, using her art to advocate for the protection and appreciation of the natural world.
